Mitsubishi Estate has announced plans to open a new development called YURAKUCHO PARK on the site of the demolished Yurakucho Building and Shin-Yurakucho Building. The opening is scheduled for the second half of 2026.
Mitsubishi Estate, which has been involved in redeveloping the Tokyo Marunouchi area since 1980, is currently working to enhance diversity in nearby districts including Tokiwabashi and Yurakucho. The company is promoting collaboration with local communities and artists as part of these efforts.
Tokyo’s Yurakucho Park Aims to Become a Hub for Japanese Culture
YURAKUCHO PARK is being positioned as a new cultural hub for Japan, strengthening the role of Marunouchi and its surroundings as centers for Japanese culture. The concept envisions a space where people, ideas, and content converge and then spread globally. The logo design reflects this vision by aligning the four dots in the kanji for "raku" (fun or comfort) with the concept of dynamic cultural flow.
Pharrell and NIGO Bring JAPA VALLEY TOKYO to Life in Yurakucho
One of the main attractions at YURAKUCHO PARK will be JAPA VALLEY TOKYO, set to open in 2027 in collaboration with NOT A HOTEL. Directed by Pharrell Williams and NIGO, the space draws inspiration from California’s Napa Valley and will combine art, commerce, and hospitality. The duo aims to fuse Japanese sake with local food and fashion culture, creating a new tourism destination in central Tokyo.
Yurakucho Park to Feature Pop-Ups, Dining, and KAWS Exhibit
As part of the project, the facility will also feature pop-up shops and eat-in areas dedicated to art, food, and fashion. An exhibition of works by artist KAWS is also being planned.
